Rudy VanderLans: Breaking the Rules of Design is a book researched, written, edited, and designed by me. It explores the history of both VanderLans’ life and also his design career, including his work with the Emigre magazine. The design style draws on the Emigre’s challenging of legibility and also uses a typeface by Emigre Fonts, Triplex Serif, as the main headline typeface.
